Point Dume, Malibu

One of the many things I love about living in Southern California is not just the endless good weather, but discovering the hidden gems. There's so much to see and do that it's hard to pick exactly where to start, but my favorite is its coastline.

One such spot is the breathtaking landscape that makes up the Point Dume Nature Preserve. It’s an amazing place for a day trip where you can hike the summit for spectacular views or just chill out on the secluded beach.

It’s located about 20 minutes north of Malibu and about 2 miles off of Pacific Coast Highway. There’s limited parking at the top, but don’t let that dissuade you from going. There’s parking down the hill. Sure, it’ll add a bit to your hike but trust me, it’s worth it!

These are really good pictures! I love Malibu — definitely one of my favorite surfing spots as well. The next time you come here, you should check out Escondido Falls. It’s near Malibu and with all the rain earlier this year, there is a luscious waterfall right now.
